In reply to your e-mail, I have been delighted with the service received from theidol.com / gocompare.com and have not experienced any problems whatsoever. I have been kept informed at every stage of the proceedings and not had to bother about chasing things up myself. I used the gocompare website last year for my motor and household insurances and had no problems there either hence the use of it again for favourable Life Cover. Plus that very annoying advert ensures that the words and tune just keep going round and round in your head for evermore, no chance of forgetting gocompare! We already had our life insurance with Aviva but we were covered for £23,000 less than we needed to be covered for and were paying a total of £48 per month. To increase the cover to the full amount needed Aviva quoted us £51 per month total. Having shopped around, your quote for life insurance underwritten by Aviva was the most competitive on a guaranteed premium (£44 per month) for exactly the same cover (mortgage life insurance with critical illness cover starting at £148,000, over 15 years). It was quick and easy to get the initial quote online and arrange a call-back on a Saturday when my husband and I could both speak to Aviva. They called at the right time and it took the amount of time they had warned (25 minutes per person). In summary we are pleased with the service The Idol has offered as it looks like it will save up over £1000 in premiums over the term of the policy for the same cover compared with going direct with Aviva.

The process was relatively easy and I hope we have choosen the right level of cover. Gocompare was clear on the options available and I was able to compare different options of cover from different provides, AXA appeared to offer what I felt safe with and covered any concerns, Idol followed up well and the lady who interviewed us was extremely nice, the paperwork was as expected, of course I cannot predict the future but I believe I have made a very good choice in AXA. Since I turned 50, I`ve been bombarded with guaranteed Life insurances, since when i`ve always on the cusp of applying. I found the idol website very straightforward to use, I had an existing life policy with aviva, but as it runs out in June2010, the terminal illness cover no longer applies, so I just wanted to extend this, moneysupermarket gave a much better price for exact same aviva policy through theidol than going direct, so to save £200 by buying through theidol was a no brainer. I even spoke to Aviva (having gone through about 10 levels of automated menu's pressing x, y z) and they refused to match price, and said I should buy it through theidol ! I found clicking through from theidol website very straightforward, and didn't have to re-enter the same information more than once, which was excellent. I will generally complain about anything, so I think this is pretty high praise for your website and setup that I can't fault it ;-) Obviously assuming the policy is all setup correctly (which I assume is now down to Aviva anyway).

A really easy service to use. I had lloked into life insurance through my bank and they wanted to charge me £45 per month for £70000 of life cover. Imagine how pleased I was to get £150000 of cover for just £11.28 per month. I'll be using this service again.

Hi I have found your service a refreshing change, the forms I filled in were quite straightforward and only took about 5 minutes, I was emailed straight back with an acknowledgement, and I was kept informed about the progress of my policy and have now received all the relevant documents. When I phoned your customer services out of office hours I was told quickly and briefly what times to call back which is all I really wanted to know and was not bombarded with other useless information. When I called back I was connected to a real person within seconds after a brief message explaining the legal situation of your company with regard to the FSA which I expected. I found the whole experience in purchasing AXA insurance through you very easy. Also the fact that it was one-fifth the premium that my mortgage providers insurance agent quoted was excellent. However in this day an age of electronics, I found it a little frustrating have to wait upto 14 days to hear if I had been except or not. That aside, I am very pleased with you service and will not hesitate in using you again.

In a nutshell, I was very impressed with you service. I particularly liked being updated with regular e-mail throughout the process so during for example, waiting for other agencies to respond, in our case our Doctor. Together with the advice to contact them and give them a 'gentle prompt.' The last time we took out a similar policy, numerous phone call needed to be made to get the best quotes. This time it took a matter of minutes, obviously dealing with Legal & General understandably took time due to the information required, however this was expected and essentially not you issue. Finally adding another 40K from our previous policy (and being the wrong side of 50!) I would was expecting the policy to be in excess of double our old one. Not so, a mere £1 more a month. Incidently, the company recommended by our mortgage provider was about 2.5 times than the one we accepted.
