Overview

As the owner of Asanto, you will shape the future of our SaaS insurance platform. This will involve developing and executing the strategy, driving revenue growth, owning the product offering and P&L as well as ensuring customer satisfaction and the success of our platform.

Principle accountabilities

Vision and strategy:

  • Define, communicate and own the value proposition, positioning and strategy to deliver success for the Asanto product and ensure it aligns to the company’s overall goals.
  • Work as a member of The Idol leadership team and board to define the vision and long-term strategy for the product.
  • Monitor and analyse the performance, feedback, value for money, market trends and competitive landscape for Asanto and the SaaS industry, and use this to inform future strategy and drive innovation.

Strategy implementation:

  • Develop and manage the annual budget, 5 year plans and forecasts for the commercial proposition, and tightly manage the operating costs for the product.
  • Develop and own the delivery of key metrics and outcomes, and report on these within the company and to the board.
  • In consultation with the Product Owners and delivery teams, create a comprehensive roadmap that outlines feature priorities, timelines, and resource allocation, and provider leadership to ensure this is delivered to time and cost whilst delivering the planned benefits/improvements to the platform.

Product Development:

  • Through leadership of the product management teams, deliver innovative and competitive solutions that meet the needs and expectations of our customers and drive value for the company.
  • Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to customer satisfaction, ensuring high-quality and timely product releases, and ensuring that it meets the needs, characteristics and objectives of customers in the target market.

Business development:

  • Through leadership of the Strategic Partnership Director, oversee the development and delivery of the distribution strategy for Asanto to ensure strategic targets are met, and further opportunities to maximise new business opportunities are taken.
  • Consider, relevant to the role, the needs and objectives of all our customers, including vulnerable customers, to ensure they receive good outcomes.

Team leadership:

  • Take the lead in all matters regarding the management of employees, ensuring that management discretion is used in a consistent manner and that the area follows the company’s policies and procedure delivering performance, reliability and security.
  • Lead and develop the teams required to deliver the proposition building future scalability into plans whilst fostering an agile, collaborative, and innovative culture.
Role dimensions
  • The role currently has responsibility for 5 FTE direct reports and c. 8 FTE indirect.
  • Reports into The Idol Managing Director.
  • The role sits on our Board as a statutory company director.
  • Asanto is a SaaS platform offered by theidol.com with a 5 year revenue target of £14m / annum.
Person specification

Knowledge, experience and qualifications

  • Experience of senior level team leadership involving strategic and commercial forecasting and decision making.
  • Experience having full ownership of a technology product from design through development to commercialisation.
  • Substantial proven track record in product development, including responsibility at a leadership level.
  • Extensive experience in the SaaS industry, ideally within insurance or financial services with a background in commercial strategies for SaaS products.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Must meet the criteria to be a statutory company director.

Role terms

This is a full-time Monday to Friday role. Hybrid working is available with a requirement to attend the office in Penrith, Cumbria approximately twice a month or as frequently as required to meet the role requirements (expenses will be provided).

Salary negotiable dependant on experience, performance related bonus, enhanced pension, and generous private medical and insurance benefits, and Legal and General share schemes.
